Automechanika Johannesburg to feature new products from the automotive aftermarket

Sep 7, 2017

The series of Automechanika trade fairs staged around the world by Messe Frankfurt are ideal locations to introduce new products and services for the automotive aftermarket. This is very much the case at Automechanika Johannesburg, which is being staged for the fifth time at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, from September 27-30.

This year this renowned automotive aftermarket trade fair brand is co-located with Futuroad, a truck and bus exhibition, REIFEN, a tyre expo and Scalex, a trade fair for transport systems, infrastructure, and logistics solutions. All these events are targeting trade visitors from the Sub-Saharan region as it is now an attractive, four-in-one show offering.

Tenneco is introducing its range of premium OESpectrum® shock absorbers, using the latest valving technology for consumers who want their vehicles to provide superior ride characteristics in a wide range of driving situations. Tenneco will also be highlighting its links to OEMs as well as its extensive suspension component range.

“For a bit of fun, we will have our driving simulator on the stand where visitors can see what it is like driving a car with worn shock absorbers as well as trying to get the fastest time on a rally track,” said Tenneco’s Philip Lutz. “You will also be able to go on a virtual tour of our new state-of-art aftermarket shock absorber manufacturing plant in Poland.”

Hurricane will be displaying its popular spray booth with improved features, while plastic and hail damage repair kits will also be exhibited, as well as aluminium expansion packs for car body repair systems.

Mineral Circle Bearings (MCB), a Dubai-based supplier of quality aftermarket products, will be exhibiting at Automechanika Johannesburg for the first time. It will showcase the latest in greases and wheel bearings from top manufacturers NTN-SNR and ILJIN as well as its own MCB brand. MCB will also show the first NTN-SNR lubrication solution with heavy duty EP3 high load grease to provide optimum bearing protection against the extreme humidity and high temperatures of the Middle East and African region.

MCB sees its move to exhibit at the Johannesburg show as a way of increasing the reach for its products in Africa.

Pointer South Africa is using its presence at Automechanika Johannesburg to promote the rebranding of this company, which was known previously as Orchid Telematics powered by Global Telematics. This is particularly necessary in the fleet management sector according to Pointer SA’s Tarryn Kendal.

Pointer SA is launching two products at the show, the first a camera solution, Pointer View, and the other a cold chain solution, Pointer Nano.

UAB Dielektrik, of Lithuania, will be promoting its Truck Explorer diagnostics and chip turning equipment, with its range continually being expanded to support a wider range of vehicles and ECU types.

As, a Polish manufacturer of alternators, starters, and parts, is a regular exhibitor at Automechanika Johannesburg. This company will be launching new products which are classified according to three lines: Standard, Premium, and Economy.

Several new products will be launched at Futuroad, including the Tata 814 4.5-ton truck and a preview of the new Hino 500 Wide Body heavy truck range, which goes into local production in November.

Afrit, a bodybuilder with more than 50 years of innovation and engineering experience in the industry, will showcase road transport trailers at Futuroad that are packed with technology and innovation. A dedicated sales team will be on hand to offer expert advice and solutions to prospective customers.

GRW, another bodybuilder, will be introducing its X models, which are pre-configured quality trailers at competitive prices, with the Inkabi X 6/12 Tautliner model priced from R515 000 and the Imvubu X four-compartment, 50 000-litre fuel bridging tanker priced from R925 000.
